Recap of a Creative Day: StadtWerkstatt Medien 2024 in Dieburg

Neither wind nor rain could dampen the creative energy on the Dieburg marketplace on December 7, 2024. From 9:30 AM to 1:30 PM, six media art workshops transformed the square into a vibrant space for exploration, play, and collaboration. Despite the less-than-ideal weather, participants of all ages immersed themselves in interactive workshops designed to showcase how media and art intersect with society.

Visitors explored a wide range of experiences: from anonymously unburdening their thoughts in the “Black Confession Box” to journeying through history and discovering how difficult it can be to correctly attribute famous quotes. Others dove into sensory worlds, such as the workshop “Echos of the world,“ where they used touch and sound to explore the five elements and co-created a global-inspired soundscape.

The next step is the creation of different Social Sculptures: a collaborative art piece formed from the media materials produced during the workshops. This unique exhibit captures the spirit of connection, creativity, and community that defined the event.

The Social Sculpture will be on display at Museum Schloss Fechenbach in Dieburg from February 1–2, 2025, with a vernissage on January 31 at 6:30 PM.

StadtWerkstatt Medien 2024 proved that even in stormy weather, creativity knows no bounds. For more information on the workshops and the project, visit StadtWerkstatt Medien.
